The Riley Team is celebrating the holidays the best way we know how... by channeling our inner Oprah and sharing our favorite things (and listings!) of the season.
I like to live everyday like I’m Oprah, so I jumped at the idea for The Riley Team come up with our own “Favorite Things” for the holidays. The home I’ve chosen is an absolutely adorable historical Victorian at 6525 Lower Marlboro Lane in Owings. It is listed by Trish Frostbutter from Century 21 New Millinium. It was originally built in the 1650’s, restored in 1890, and has been spectacularly modernized. So you have the charm of a historic house, including beautiful hardwood and fireplace(s!!). But you also have incredible updates like granite counters, stainless steel, an outdoor jacuzzi, and you know…. electricity. Listed at 508k, I could fill this entire house with my favorite things but here are some of the top contenders.
Do you guys know about the Gravity Blanket? It’s a weighted blanket that’s supposed to be great for sleep, stress, and general coziness. If this isn’t the perfect living/dining room to get cozy in, I don’t know what is. Between the posts, brick exposure, and wood fireplace I’m ready to poor myself some hot chocolate and turn on a Christmas film.
I love the ease of this bathroom and am a firm believer that a bold wallpaper can provide a fast, easy update. This Palmetto wallpaper from Serena and Lily is simply beautiful. Add in a warm rug, a shower speaker, and BOOM - you have a new favorite room in the house and your own private oasis.
This garage is amazing and would be a huge bonus for someone who appreciates it. But a single young woman (and the proud driver of a Mini Cooper), I have close to zero use for this large of a garage. You know what that means.... BABE CAVE. Throw up some insulation, twinkle lights, mini bar, and a few of these modern bean bag chairs and I am THERE.
